These bright tri-colored kingsnakes are found in the mountains of the west coast of North America. More delicate than most kingsnakes, they are uncommon in most collections.
In the wild these snakes are lizard eaters with Western skinks and Western Fence lizards being the main diet. In captivity adults will readily feed on lab mice, though offspring can often be difficult to get eating pinky mice
