Is this a suriname boa constrictor?

By SnakyLady · February 6, 2012 10:43 pm

I like red tails, and this was sold to me as a "speckled " red tail boa. With the understanding that the seller dealt with ball pythons and didn't feel like figuring out what her morph was. She's got a lot of red and pink in her colorations and doesn't really look like a common red tail at least to the novice which is me. So my question is this a suriname boa constrictor and is it called a "high red".

I have an extremely similar boa acquired in a similar situation. I don't know about the locality, but I was told he was "hypo pastel". He has a lot of salmon and olive color sin his side markings, is reddish and darker than normal boas, and has a lot of speckling.

Also, Suris have pretty distinct saddles, This looks like what I would just call "Columbian". Although cross breeding is not uncommon and it can be difficult to distinguish.
