Proliferation of morphs, aberrations, inbreds, etc. in the hobby. My problems with the hobby today are as follows.Ball pythons, iguanas, bearded dragons, leopard geckos, etc. If you go to a trade show or swap meet all you see is rows and rows of the above. These freaks were created to make money for the breeder. They do nothing to create any new information about breeding, husbandry,or any other aspect of the hobby. In my opinion anybody that pays big dollars for a pink striped ball python is a FOOL!!!The reptile pricelists of 25,35,even 45 years ago had much more variety than what is available today. As far as I am concerned all ball pythons are created equal.I will have much more to say later,I am sure(hopefully)I offended enough people for now.

Real Snakes.com problems: An old friend from Sydney was amazed at the vast numbers of bearded dragons at the trade show; says they're fairly rare in the Outback. I was looking at Wade's Bay Area herp list from the 60's; Mx.boas($15), Indian pythons($100), ball pythons($65 - sold out), captive bred leopard geckos(unheard of). Aberrations; I've got a wild caught Macklot's Python with an extra ventral scale 4" up from the functioning vent! "IT was the best of times, it was the worst of times," A Tale of Two Cities.
