Yeah, it's been known and used for amphibians for a long time. I personally use it for my bigger newts because I don't like the pain of cutting it up tiny for the smaller species. I find all of my newts like it. I use it sparingly because I'm not so sure mammal proteins are a great staple for amphibians, given that it's not something they've evolved to digest and process. Shrimp is a very nice food, but expensive. I buy shrimp occasionally, chop and rinse it, then feed. Newts really seem to enjoy it.
