Beefheart?

You said two things here that I've not yet read in this forum.

First: You said that you agreed with me! Being validated is cool.

Second: I've never heard of anyone feeding beefheart to their newts. Is that a common food for newts? Do you feed it to most any newt, or only certain sizes or species? Do most of your newts like it, or do you find that it's something that not all newts like? I'm interested in alternative fresh-but-dead foods, so I'm interested in knowing how viable of an option this might be for me.
