I don't think you need to be concerned with transfer of disease/parasites unless you have other wild caught herps in the house. There aren't very many pathogens that can be transferred from mammals to reptiles.

If it has stayed in reasonable condition by eating through most of the winter, then I think you should take it back to the exact spot that you found it and release it.

Be aware that there are studies to suggest that some snakes may not survive if released into a new area, so release it where you found it, or give it to someone else to care for.
