Though I agree with most of what has been stated, Brian, I actually have found CB Mandarins to be, well rather easy animals to raise and breed.
I've been breeding these guys for several years now, and have had zero (not a one) Captive Born babies perish. I can't say this for any other species I've worked with.
I've had babies eat for me as soon as two days after hatching, and I've had less stubborn hatchlings of Mandarins than the cornsnakes I produce.
Do agree 100% though on the WC issue. Anyone considering buying the WC Mandarins should just take that $120 bucks or so for a pair, and burn the cash in their backyard. Would save a heck of a lot of frustration in the long run and the results are likely to be the same (actually at least you'd get warmth out of the fire) :)
