This brings up something that I want to ask about. I've read several postings warning newt owners to avoid small gravel for fear that it will be ingested by the newts. I use sandblasting gravel in my newt tank (really small gravel), and with some success. Mt newts HAVE eaten the gravel, but they later spit it out. They have a rock that sticks out of the water, which I sometimes find gravel on top of (someone who lives IN the tank must be putting it up there. I've only lost one newt, which I think from over eating, but not from eating gravel. So, is this "they'll eat the gravel" thing really that much of a risk?
