I think "will breed next year" or "one year away from breeder size" would be about the best way to word it.

The thing I really hate is all the adds that claim to have "killer" or "screamer" snakes, but no photos or very blurry photos. This is especially irritating when people claim to have the "best ever" candy canes with "pure white, bright solid red, blah,blah blah..." but no/poor photos and of course, no photos of the parents either (they sold the parents, the digital camera broke, or some other lame excuse).
