Barry -- try to entice them with algae disks. (the kind that people feed to their pleco catfish) this may encourage them to eat. Use a veggie clip and leave a romaine lettuce leaf or some escarole or chicory down in the tank for them.

10 gallons is a bit small for them. I would put them in a bigger tank and give them some hiding spots to. Also you can try putting some ghost shrimp (glass shrimp) in there for them two. It may entice them having the live food in there.

Lastly, be prepared to separate them. They may get along fine but usually as they settle in the start to get aggressive with each other.
