Actually, and anyone can correct me if I'm wrong here, but while amazons are smaller in girth, they, I believe, get much longer than emeralds. My amazon right now is pushing almost 4 feet. And Amazons are a lot more active than emeralds, actively hunting a lot of the time as opposed to emeralds preference to ambush. Because of this, they usually need more room than an emerald because they like to cruise along the cage a lot.
