Hi,
I think 3 1/2ft may be a bit small for a female ATB to breed successfully although she very well might produce at that size with no problems. I like to wait an extra season to get some good size & weight on females...I believe they will lead a longer, more productive breeding life when held off as a young adult.
cooling 10 degrees or more cooler than normal may be a spurring factor as well as increased misting and humidity during breeding season.
I would feed them (especially the female!!) all through the breeding and gestation period if they are willing...Some female ATB will go off feed and some continue to eat up until they pop!! I believe the latter types are more likely to produce large litters year after year.
