Well, I took it back to the shop, and had the owner(who happens to be a herpetologist, or so he says) look at the baby. He said that a respiratory infection would show yellow, not clear, mucus in the mouth, and the nose would have discharge. Then he strated telling me that is was going to shed(it was blatantly obvious) and other stuff about how to take care of them. That was annoying, seeing that i had told him earlier in the conversation that I had been keeping and caring for healthy snakes for the past two years. But anyways, I am inclined not to beleive that it is"normal for babies to have the mucus in their mouths, especially right after drinking." But in the last couple days, it has cleared up a little, and it seems to be breathing a lot easier. Maybe it helps that we got its snow clutchmate and are ahving it live in the sane quarantine tank. I'll keep you all posted if anything takes a turn!
