: Me and my girlfriend were enjoying another nice December day on the beach in Venezuela. We were the only ones and were just lying on the sand. My main purpose to go to the beach is to surf, so I usually don’t just lie there. This time, though, after having surfed for a couple of hours, I decided to join my girlfriend and positioned myself beside her for awhile. For some strange reason, I lied down looking towards the mountains (the beach is about 50m wide before mountains emerge covered with a semi-arid rain forest) - usually, if I lie on the beach, I always look to the sea. I had my eyes closed and for another strange reason, I just happened to opened them. As soon as my eyes got focused, I saw an iguana being hunted out of the forest by a type of small bear (I couldn’t identify this animal positively yet). The iguana was just "flying" and headed straight towards us. I had time to let out a loud scream and jumped up. Fortunately, my girlfriend got so scared of my scream that she instinctively jumped up as well (I think the other animal got scared also because it made an 180 and returned to forest).
: Well, if we wouldn’t have jumped up, the iguana would have caused us some serious injuries, because it ran straight across our towels and into the sea. I picked up the exhausted animal 5 minutes later on the shore. She was about 4’ long and was beautiful green with a bluish stomach and a banded tail.
: KEEP YOUR EYES OPEN, always!!!
