Michael,

I live in the state of Ohio, I am active in my local herpetological society, and have no knowledge of the "dump stites" that you mention.
I do know that many people attain reptiles, just as they do other pets, then want to get rid of them when they discover that they are much more work than they had guessed. Unfortunatly, there are no animal shelters that i am aware of that accept reptiles. you have my word that i will investigate to find out if these "dump sites" exsist. i certainly hope not...we do have laws in this country that forbid cruelty to animals. i would not think that the govenment would approve of, much less operate, such sites. if it is true, the many regional and national herp and other animal societies must get involved. i will post what i find out.
