These were common snappers. The eggs were collected from the wild for incubation studies. A minimum of 1,000 eggs were collected yearly. The percentages were based on actual hatches that contained color.
When i say orange/red and tan/white, I mean the whole animal. Skin and shell. The whites were the prettiest. I never hatched any albinos, but one albino hatchling was collected near where I collected eggs. I wish now, that I had taken pictures.

::You get these orange/red snappers out of about 3% of the hatch. the light tan/white are about 5%. I never kept any of this color, so someone else will have to hunt down a picture for you.

:::I've been working with snappers from a locality here in MN that are very orange. Not only is their skin orange but also their plastrons and carapaces. Some are as orange as an okeetee corn snake. I wonder if anyone else has very orange snappers or pictures so I can see how mine compare. Take care. John Meltzer
