Sexing

Phew-- It's a close one but I'd guess (heavy emphasis on "guess") is that the larger first one is a male. Snappers are like any other turtle where in males, the tail is thicker and the cloaca is further from the plastron. Females usually have tails that are more on the wimpy side and the cloaca is right up near the border of the plastron. Also, Snappers (Common and Alligator) are one of the few species of turtles where the male gets bigger than the female...further supporting my guess that the bigger one is male. --Maxx
