Hello, my name is Robert Villa from Tucson, AZ. I'm 15 and joined at the IRBA in July. I currently keep a desert tortoise(Gopherus[Xerobates]agassizii), a desert kingsnake(Lampropeltis splendida), a Sonoran gophersnake(Pituophis melanoleucus afinis[=catenifer]), 2 cornsnakes(sunglow and Okeetee), 2 penninsula cooters(Pseudemys floridana penninsularis), 2 African side-necks(Pelomedusa sp.) 3 desert box turtles(Terrapene ornata luteola), and just recently I found a Couch's spade-foot toad in the African side-neck pond! My aunt lives in Chula Vista so I go with my family every summer. Otay lakes are very close and I like to herp there. I couldn't make it this year to any SDHS meetings. However I will try to attend whenever I can. I know that some of you are members of the herp society here in Tucson. For those of you who don't know about the Tucson Herp Society, you can visit the web site at tucsonherpsociety.org. The society is more geared to research, conservaton, and education of the herps of Arizona and Mexico. There are no animals alowed at the meetings unless approved by the board of directors. There are however herpetoculturists in the society(including the founder; Daveid L. Hardy Sr. and famous monitor breeder Frank Retes.) I look foward to reading posts and hopefully meeting you sometime! Robert Villa.
