Hola,

Nos encontramos delante de un anfibio dotado de una gran corpulencia y unas fuertes mandíbulas por lo que tan buenas le son para cazar sus presas como son un inconveniente unido al mal caracter de algunos Ceratophrys para su cría en cautividad.

La biología de la reproducción de esta especie es poco conocida sólo algunos autores se aventuran a decir algunas características de como es el biotopo ideal para que tenga lugar la cría.

Lo más importante antes de comenzar nada es encontrar una pareja y que esta sea bien avenida algo que no es fácil.

Debes crear un típico bosque con bastante manto formado por hojas caídas y una humedad sin llegar al encharcamiento. Este es uno de los factores más importantes ya que jugando con este factor puedes conseguir éxitos.

Un periodo de sequía alternado con una subida de las temperaturas y algún sistema que provoque lluvia con un buen drenaje provocará que la pareja entre en celo. El macho comenzará a cantar y atraerá a la hembra hacia la zona acuática no muy profunda donde se aparearán.
