Crested geckos do prefer insects over fruit (there are a few who don’t however). It is just as well, as the animals do much better on a diet that consists of more insects, they growth faster and bigger then there all fruit counterparts. Other Rhacs (leachies, aurics, etc.) seem to be the opposite and enjoy fruit more, at least that is what I have seen in my experiences. It would also account for their slower growth rate (i.e. leachies take 2+ years to reach adulthood). However there are always exceptions as each animal has it’s own preferences.
