Hi Jeff. I've kept C. constrictor (ssp.), both adult and juveniles. They are a little high strung, feeding mostly on snakes and other reptiles, mice, and frogs. The blue racer is one of Michigan's most ophiophagous snakes. Once I put a young black racer in a holding tank with a couple other snakes and the darn thing darted right over and grabbed and swallowed a baby milksnake. I'll be looking for blue racers also this summer for a project I have going comparing them to Chinese racers. They are somewhat comparable in behavior, but C. constrictor is not a constrictor. : How do you find keeping Coluber in captivity? I've always thought that they would be quite difficult. Does anyone have any personal experience with keeping Blue/ Eastern Yellowbelly Racers in captivity? Is anyone breeding them?
