Savannahs are (in my opinion) the most calm of the monitor species. But the choice is really the monitors on how much it should be handled. Let the montior come to you on it's own term and it's own time. Forcing it to be held will cause problems. Your going to get bit, a lot. Pooped on, and tail whipped. That's with any monitor. Your question really should be "what am I looking for out of this monitor?" Some choose to just sit and watch their montiors in their cages, others handle them and turn them into pets. But they are NEVER tame!!! Get that word out of your head right now. No matter how much handling occurs they can still turn and bite you w/out warning. 99% of Savannahs are wild caught and they have oernery little tempers at any age.
My whole point is a wild animal is NEVER tame, just tolerant!
