:Thanks for the info I have gathered already from reading old posting thought it was about time I got some direct answers.

:We got "Beckham" about ten days ago from a local pet shop that looks like it specialises in reptiles. First few days he/she was not to active but did eat and poop, I have just brought a waterfall for the corner of the tank as I did not know they needed running water. Have not seem him drink from it yet, but we spray the whole tank twice a day. He is a bit lazy and will let crickets run around his tank for days, but will eat if we hold them above him.

:Few questions, is the above behaviour normal? How would we know if it is male or female? We have gave him a bath, how often if at all should we do this?
:Any more info is appreciated, personality, traits....

Hi Welshdragon,

A mountain horned lizard is actually different from the horned lizards discussed on this forum. I believe that it is in the genus Acanthosaura, which is from tropical Asia. The horned lizards discussed here are of the North American desert genus Phrynosoma, commonly known as horned toads or horny toads. The two genera are very different animals with extremely different needs. You'll find much more useful information on the mountain dragon (where I see you've also posted) forum, or the water dragon forum. Good luck with your new lizard!

Gary
