I know it can't totally replace ants, but still, it can't harm him if I give him the right concentration, right? :do any of you know the proportion or concentration of formic acid in an ant? If I know this information, I will be able to make a solution containing the right concentration for my lizard (i have all the equipment I need in the lab to make the right concentration).

: There is no set concentration of formic acid in ants. It is dependent on the species of ant, for one, and there are other enzymes and nutrients that are produced by ants that horned lizards require. Ants are the ONLY thing that provides HLs with the nutritional requirement for health. There is no shortcut. I am sorry, but there are things that Mother Nature built into HLs and their food items that make horned lizards what they are. Lester G. Milroy III
