: these ants are furocious and dont stay alive long. is there sumthin that i can put on crickets to still give them formic acid? any help is appreciated. thanks

:Chase, you must be doing something wrong. I keep ants in the refridgerator until offered to HLs. I have kept a supply of ants for a month and all have lived just fine until it is "dinner" time for the HLs. There are NO substitutes for ants. I keep 1000 to 2000 ants at a time and my captive study HLs are doing just fine. (14+ years, 4-5 generations of HLs). Read the postings here in the forum and learn. If you are just keeping HLs as "pets" they are not good "pets." They require constant care and upkeep. Maybe you should try bearded dragons? Lester G. Milroy III
