The trade name is Baytril. The dosage sounds OK, depending on the weight of the Chameleon. I'm certainly not going to second-guess your vet here.

The drug comes in 2 strengths, 22.7 mg/ml and 100 mg/ml. Normal dosing in reptiles is anywhere from 2.5 mg/kg to 10 mg/kg depending on target pathogen and species of animal being treated. Every day may be indicated for a Chameleon, I don't know.

Baytril use in reptiles is outside the approved uses by the manufacturer, but has proved itself out very well.

:My Veiled Chameleon has a respiratory infection. I took him to the vet when I came home to find a white discharge coming from his nose. My mom also told me he was breathing weird earlier. Anyway, the vet prescribed a 0.2 mL dose of enroflox once a day for 2 weeks. Has anyone else used this and what did you think?
