:Yes, eventually this animal will die if not treated. Properly hydrated chondros don't look dry even during a shed cycle. What happens is, the animal becomes more stressed, the stuck shed will actually cut off circulation, and the end result will be a beautiful waste of chondro life. Stores like this should be fined for animal cruelty. These snakes aren't hard to keep. Good luck with your confrontation, and let us know how things go.

There is a GTP at my local reptile store that I feel bad for. Two and a half weeks ago, I bought a carpet thats very healthy. But I noticed a GTP that was in shed, or should have been done with it. The next week, the dried skin was still on him. Finally today when I saw the snake, it looked more dried than ever. I fianlly told the store owner to mist the snake. I guess what Im asking is, if he's too dry, will he eventually die? If so, I would not be opposed to confronting the obviously anti-herp manager and sharing a few words. Thanks in advance for any input. -John
