This is actually a very large factor in my list of reasons why I will never, ever breed animals for sale to the public, and likely not at all. I could not, and would not sell an animal to someone if my gut said they were a bad keeper. If I can get prosecuted for that, then best to cut my liability and not breed at all.

Frankly, I think it's a two-way street. The seller should provide all nescessary information, but the buyer also has a responsibility to be informed. The problem is at both ends.
