I'm a newbie too, but I can tell you if you go to the photo gallery on the Kingsnake home page, there is a section on tanks. I got some ideas there. I have water plants you can get at any fish store and my little guys love hanging out in them. I think they like to 'perch' on them more than floating around.

:Hi. Thanks for all the advise. My son really wants a frog/toad, so now I'm searching for the best set-up to keep them healthy. We have a 35 gallon tank. Right now I have it set up probably 75/25 land/water with two filters. Gravel base with eco-dirt on top for the land area. I have a fake plant in there now and will get more today probably. Also have a small cave wall on one side and a waterfall with small stream. We will be making backdrops for the outside of the tank to help shield the toads a bit. Should I have plants in the water area too? Are there sites we can go see other set-ups? If we're bringing an animal into the house I want it to be healthy. We'll feed it crickets, I have a separate tank for them. I've been reading about the gut-loading and dusting which sounds simple enough. Any other suggestions are appreciated. Thanks - Rhonda
