I use cypress on about everything, including my frilleds. Crusty, and splitting digits is cause for concern. Inspect them again carefully and make sure there isnt a retained shed. If its not retained, i would consider taking it to a vet because there could be infection settled into the digits. If you want to try something else first, keep the cage especially clean with the paper towel substrate and apply neospirin to the infected areas. I have also used bactroban, but am not sure if its available over the counter. best bet is to still see a vet.
If its retained shed skin, apply mineral oil to the skin and let it soak for awhile, then gently work on rubbing it off. It may take a few times, but usually does the trick.

:Just curious as to what type of substrate I should be using. My guy is about 5.5-6"svl now and I seem to be having a little problem with the long toes on his hands and feet. His "ring finger" on his hands seems to be a bit crusty on the bottom of that digit and one finger has cracked on the bottom side of the joint. Is this a humitidy issue?? He's shedding his hands right now but it doesn't look like retained shed, just a bit crusty. He's still on paper towels, and I'm misting a few times a day and soaking once a day.
