Yea they hibernate. It's a scary little process that you put them through that's supposed to make the males more fertile for mating. I know this because I was wanting to buy one from someone who's dragon was in hibernation at the time. But, I don't think that's the case with yours. It's gotta be the female. Ain't these lizards funny?

Mike

:I use PowerSUN 160 watt mercury vapor bulb, I usually keep it on for 10 hours, then I turn it off. I put 2-3 superworms in a low tupperware with calcium sprinkled on them. They don't seem to be eating them, sometimes I do see 1 or 2 missing, which I assume either my male of female ate it. But I am not worried about my male, since he seems big and fat, but my female is pretty small compared to the male, as if she is not growing. It's really pain in the butt, to feed the female, the male has no prob snatching one from my hand, but even that, he isn't doing that lately. The female, doesn't even want to eat either from my hand or the bowl. But, they are drinking water each time I spray on them. Should I start feeding them something else? I don't know what's the problem. BTW, each time I put the male under the bulb to bask, afterwhile he goes back to his old spot, which is the other end of the cage, usually away from the female. Female seems to like to bask under the vapor bulb 24/7.
:Do these guys hate each other or what? I never saw them fight or anything, nor do they seem bothered if i put them close to each other, but I FEEL they seem to be irritated, cause eventually they stay away from each other.

::Some times male frilled dragons will go for a week or two with out eating. This is generaly caused by having a female around or having conditions that mimic the breeding season in the wild. I have never herad of frilleds hibernateing, I THINK that that was just a guess. That is a really long time to go with out eating IMHO. What kind of lighing do you have, how about heat? If you keep the lighting (such as a repti sun 5.0 or a u.v. heat bulb) just as strong and on for 10-12 hours a day you should be fine. Also, keep the heat up. The cool side should not drop below 70 and the warm side should be up to about 100- 110.
