This field that I've been herping isn't very big and it is within the city of San Antonio! I'd say it's about 1/4 mile long (maybe a bit longer) and 1/16 or less mile wide. These are the herps I've found here so far:

rough earth snakes (lots)
Texas patchnose snakes (lots)
checkered garter snakes (lots)
red striped ribbon snake (one)
western diamondback rattlesnake (a few)
flathead snake (a few)
western coachwhip (a few)
plains blind snake (one)
praire kingsnake (one)
ground skinks
Texas spiny lizards
narrowmouth toad

there may be a couple I'm forgetting. There should also be desert kingsnakes in this field...maybe some water snakes, copperheads, and salamanders. Oh yeah, most likely Texas rat snakes and rough green snakes in the bushes....
