Hi Jeff, you are from Mass. right? I used to live in Charleston and the Summerville area. We used to find areas off highway 61. Not sure if it still is, but it was a scenic highway and lots of herp activity. Night cruising was good in the summer months and I found a few Eastern Kings on this road in Spring, along with Corns, Copperheads, and Yellow Rats. If you take this further into the state (north, or west?) we used to find other snakes off side roads such as Canebrakes. There was a golf course in Summerville we used to go to that was good for finding Racers, Kings, Yellow Rats, and Cottonmouths. Also, I'm not sure what has been developed over the years but some roads up towards Monks Corner were good for finding very large Eastern Kings and huge Yellow Rats. Sorry I can't be more specific, but since it has been 10 years, I can't say what is still habitat. Good Luck!
:Besides the WELL hunted areas around Fayetville/okeetee what are some other good towns/counties to hunt in the Charleston area. I will be there most of April so I want to try my luck. Thanks,Jeff
