Like other animals on the Galapagos Islands, Marine Iguanas evidence no fear of humans. Human visitors had to step over or around them, on narrow paths.
The lizards have the unique behavioral trait of "sneezing" to expel salt/salt water from their nostrils. Because of their lack of concern over human intrusion, those sneezes sometimes sprayed photographers who ventured too closely (in this instance, Terra Dunham).
