Damaged snake? need any advice...(Don?)...

I just noticed that one of my snakes has several small areas of raised scales along its sides, as if it has developed sores. In all there are about 6 little spots. They are only noticeable to the touch. When I carefully inspected them, I still could barely see the trouble, but there is the faintest amount of redness under those areas.
Its like antbites, blisters, or mosquito bites would look on us if we had scales.
Has anyone seen this/had experience with this?
They weren't there @ 2 weeks ago-last time I handled him.
The enclosure had aspen bedding, which I removed, thinking it possibly harboring some type of arthropods that were too small to detect. Temps are perfect.
The humidity was a bit high, but I've corrected that.
