Gracefuls are considered difficult mostly because they are almost certainly wildcaught and prone to large parasite loads. I also think I've read that they have a fairly large wild range, so knowing the exact climate range your cham will prefer is almost impossible. You'll have to experiment with humidity and temp range, and this means learning to read your cham's appearance (darker color means too cool, pale light color too hot, bright markings and spots stress, fear, anger). They are relatively inexpensive for shops and dealers to buy, so don't demand a high price. So, more ordinary pet shops and inexperienced buyers tend to buy them and don't know how to deal with stress and parasites, and the cham dies. If you get the cham checked for parasites (bring a fresh fecal to a herp vet), treat it in 2-3 cycles over 2-3 months, keep it hydrated and in a good setup it could be fine. Remember, most chams are not very social and can be quite shy. Gracefuls tend to be shyer I've read, so it will want a good visual refuge. Too much handling can cause enough stress to shorten their life and even kill them. I've always liked gracefuls but haven't kept one myself. You can get good species and care info on www.adcham.com to start off with.
