:Paul,
:. There are several of us who post here on this forum and have lost Diamond Pythons this year. We were hoping that we had the answers to this problem but apparently we do not yet. I use UV lights with my Diamonds and also supplement with small amounts of vitamins. I lost one of my four this year right after warming them back up. I suspect that she got an infection during the cooling but I do not know for sure.

::I am a long time retic/burm/ball/boa owner and have dealt with many problems in the last 12 years but I'm new to DiamondXJungles. I was reading about DPS (diamond python syndrome) and about it's devastating affects on adult diamonds and even some diamondxjungles. In the Barker's "Pythons of The World" book they talked about a common link in keepers experiences when keeping diamonds. They said that diamonds grew normally for 3 years or so then developed a rare illness found only in diamonds. But in the more recent article in REPTILES 1999 they updated that info stating that you could supplement their diet with supplemental vitamins and ultraviolet light. Has anyone witnessed this syndrome? Do you supplement your diamond and diamond/jungle crosses? Would like some more info/thoughts on this matter. Thanks!!!
