Worms in the soil?

This is an odd topic, and I don't know if anyone has done it, or why you wouldn't...but...

Why not put worms in terrarium soil?

I got the idea when I was cleaning my giant day gecko's cage tonight....saw all the white spots, which I don't know if worms would touch or not, and also the soil gets clumpy....

I should mention I'm using Sphagnum moss as a substrate...once I find some sterile soil I'll put that in. ( It's a seasonal product, I'm told. )

Anyways...why? One of my guesses is that it may be too hot in the terrarium....but I dunno.
