I took my beardie out for the first time May 10th and for the first half hour or so he just laid there in the cage I brought him out in, looking over his shoulder at me. After awhile he looked around and seemed pretty calm about the whole thing till he spotted the ants crawling all over and I think he wanted to get out of the cage to eat them as he kept trying to get out. By this time he was out for over an hour.

I think it is only a matter of time till your guy gets used to being outside. Try placing him near the wall of the house so at least one side of the cage you take him out in (or if he is on a harness, have a shelter nearby so he can run into if stomething spooks him) is non threatening. Watch for temperature as well as they can get hot quick in direct sunlight too. I brought out a small indoor/outdoor thermometer with probe so I can see what temperature it is in the direct sunlight.
