Egg binding is where the eggs are not passed through the female for various reasons... these include lack of calcium, improper husbandry conditions, weak genetics, breeding to young, disease or other problems. It is possible that your dragon will eventually give up and lay eggs on carpet as a last ditch effort, but then again she may not. she may hold on to them which can be lethal. you need to supply her with either a separate egg-laying container/cage (recommended) or to place an egg laying container inside her cage. i don't recommend breeding your bearded dragon unless you really are prepared (both financially and mentally) to support a ton of babies for at least 5 weeks. it gets extremely tough, but it is a lot of fun if you know what you are doing and have the time. g'luck let us know how it goes.

:I know that they dig to lay their eggs ... but if I have carpet what will she do? Will she just simply not lay them and become egg-bound (i dont even know if that is what egg-bound is lol) or will she lay them on the carpet?
