Which Camera to buy???

I am looking into purchasing the Nikon 4500 or the Nikon 5000…. Has anyone used any of these??? If so what did you think of the camera??? picture quality??? user friendly???
or do any of you suggest a better camera in the same price range or better.. (1000$CA)
