Q about the Solomon Islands

Hello. I've been a herper for a long time and am working on my Masters degree in bio. This is my first time on this particular forum. But enough about me. I am writing to ask if anyone is intimately familiar with what is really happening at this moment in the Solomon Islands. Exactly how many acres (hectares, or whatever) of lowland or any other forests are left? Who has the logging contracts with the Solomons? How does one contact the governing leaders of the Solomons? How does one travel there and how best to stay and survey what is left? What is the status of Corucia zebrata there and is anyone presently working on protecting the last forests or making Corucia a threatened or endangered species? I ask because I am presently trying to rally enough support in the US and worldwide to start a real organization, or at least a real campaign that many orgs can participate in, dedicated to saving wild Corucia and their habitat; as well as to better their captive husbandry and breeding results (including the formation of a private studbook). I am just starting to try and summon interest. I would like to learn as much as possible about any relevant topics. Thank you! Please email me privately with any really long answers.
