Hello I am planning on collecting some garters this spring but have no experience herping in the northeast. I have caught snakes in CA deserts and in NC, but don't have much of an idea of what sort of space Thamnophis occupy around Massachusetts/New Hampshire. If anyone can give me any advice about anything, i.e., what county, a specific place, whether streams, ponds, or irrigation ditches are good, i would really appreciate it.
