First, allow me to apologize for cross-posting this message. I posted it on the Burmese forum but also thought I might also gain some useful knowledge here.

We are currently working on some educational material regarding the growth rates of certain snakes and acceptable weights of the same, as we are frequently asked “What is the appropriate weight for a (insert length here) foot snake?”. We are having particular difficulty finding this information for Burmese Pythons (Python molurus bivittatus) and Reticulated Pythons (Python reticulates). In fact, the only information we have been able to find was a quote by Melissa Kaplan in which stated that a 10 foot Burmese Python might weight 40+ pounds. Any assistance you can offer will be greatly appreciated as well as fully credited in our educational offering. Please feel free to email me with any resources you may have.
