This map is not all inclusive.  The dots represent only the parishes that the species was referenced by in Rossman and Dundee's book The Amphibians and Reptiles of Louisiana, (1989).  The inclusion of any other Parish is from my personal experience or trustworthy reports by others.  The dots are not arranged to indicate the region of the Parish that the species is found.  It only represents the fact that it has occured there.

Intergrades are known to occur along the Mississippi River.  This map was also referenced to the field guide Reptiles and Amphibians by Conant and Collins.  This map was used to try to indicate the range of predominately Louisiana milksnakes.  Scarlet kingsnakes (L. t. elapsoides) occur in the Florida Parishes and intergrades seem to cover a wide area.
