Oscar, June 2003

Oscar62703.jpg (419978 bytes)

Oscar,  a 4 year old male is not only gorgeous, but very nice!  He eats the most (~6 cups of salad a day) and it shows!  It is so funny to watch him race down to his salad at feeding time.

This small male required extensive antibiotic treatment for the lesions inflicted by his dominant cage mate, as well as a tail amputation and may still potentially require the amputation of 2 of his toes.  He is a beautiful creature, as you can see and is very docile for a juvenile.  He is soaking in a betadine solution to help with the lesions on his body (seen on the bottom).  He also suffered from several bite wounds.  (See the bottom right pictures).  He is on the road to recovery and will do very well in a spacious habitat all his own.  For more on Roman, visit our Ig of the Month page.

This medium female iguana is in the process of pigging out and regrowing her tail.  She is a great iguana.  She can be fiesty at times, but also enjoys being handled and is becoming more tame by the day.  She loves to shimmy as close to the ceiling as possible when she's out of her enclosure. PigPen was adopted in December, 2003.

This small female iguana Lucy (renamed from Bob)  only was with us at I.R.N. a short while.  She  was quickly adopted in July, 2003.

Zoop, December 2003
Zoop.JPG (859691 bytes)
Zoop is a very sweet and mellow 10 year old male iguana that was a classroom iguana in his former life.  Here has now found his loving forever home.  We'll miss him but are so glad he found such a great home!

Halcyon, February 2004

Halcyon21541.jpg (245612 bytes)

This cute little guy was adopted in April, 2004.  Halcyon is approximately 1 year old and very active and adorable.  It is so fun to watch him/her play.  S/he explores constantly and climbs very well.  We are not sure yet if Halcyon is a boy or girl.

Tarzan,  January 2004

Tarzan21441.jpg (360268 bytes)

Tarzan is a very funny small male 5-6 year old iguana.  I named him Tarzan after noticing him eat consistently by hanging from 2 toes.  It's hilarious to watch him!

Tarzan, December 2004 UPDATE

He's still such a riot to watch, and a very nice iguana.  Obviously from his previous life's diet he is stunted.  We do not believe that he will grow to be much larger.

Devlin December, 2003

Devlin is a skinny fella, who had a bit of a necrotic tail tip when he came to I.R.N. His tail is now healing and he is eating like a pig.  He will hopefully follow Galen's footsteps and grow big and healthy and strong with the passing of time.

Devlin, February 2004 Update:

Devlin21441.jpg (254247 bytes)

Devlin is still eating well and is taming more.  I think he will be a great ig when he is adopted and has humans to dote on him.  Unfortunately, I can only spend a limited amount of time with him.

Devlin, April 2004 UPDATE

Devlin recently prolapsed his distal colon, but had it surgically reduced and repaired.  He has been recovering just fine.  He has shown that he can be unpredictable at times, and we recommend only experienced iguana owners consider adopting him.

Oct., 2004 UPDATE

Devlin has shown to be extremely food motivated and is becoming more handleable.  However, we still recommend that only experienced iguana owners apply to adopt him.

Devlin, December 2004 UPDATE

Devlin is still waiting for a forever home!

Galen, June 2003

galen.jpg (159784 bytes)

Galen came to us with severe oral problems and digital problems.  His oral problems have subsided, but he is likely to need his toe(s) amputated.

He is a very sweet boy and loves to climb as high as he can, and loves adventuring out of his enclosure!

Galen December, 2003 UPDATE!

galen3.jpg (247860 bytes)

He has really developed quite a beautiful nuchal crest!  Look at those dorsal spines too!  He has healed well, and his toes are doing fine... he won't need anything amputated after all!

Galen February, 2004 Update:

Galen is looking very healthy and handsome and has turned out to be an incredibly wonderful buddy of mine.  If you are looking for a nice medium male, Galen's the guy for you!

Galen, Oct., 2004 UPDATE

He is still doing well and is currently spending a lot of time with one of our new residents, Rowena.  They get along extremely well.  More info on Rowena and pictures to follow.

Pip, November 2005- Pip has been adopted!

Her Story:

Pip,  January 2004

Image024.jpg (233553 bytes)

Pip is a very sweet and small 4 year old female iguana.  As you can see from her photo, she is very brightly colored.  She enjoys climbing all over humans!

Pip, December 2004 UPDATE

Pip came in with Tarzan, and they were about the same size.  Since then, she has more than tripled in size!  She has beautiful blues and greens all over:

Pip1.JPG (250842 bytes)

Pip, July 2005

In April, 2005 Pip was adopted, but unfortunately things did not work out in her new home. Her new owner felt that she did not have enough time to dedicate to Pip, so she is back at IRN and we hope to find her a forever home soon. While she was away, she laid eggs and lost a significant amount of weight. She also ripped out several nails. She is recovering nicely, her nails are growing back and she is basking with her new friend, Rowena. She is such a sweet girl. We're sure she'll find a new home soon.

Feb. 2006- update!! At long last my big man Rex has been adopted!!!

His Story:

Rex, February 2004

Rex21441.jpg (140869 bytes)

Rex1.jpg (250629 bytes)

Rex is a very large and handsome 7 year old male iguana.  He came to us pretty filthy and thin, so we'd like to keep him around a bit and help him gain some weight first, but he will be available for adoption soon!  We'll keep you posted on his progress!

April, 2004 UPDATE

Rex is still settling in and will need some more time to regain weight.  He has started his first shed recently to reveal some beautiful greens below!

December, 2004 Update:

Rex has been dewormed several times and is being feed well, but he is still not gaining as much weight as we would like.  We will plan on keeping him here at IRN for at least 2 more months.

Rex1.JPG (269398 bytes)

April, 2005 UPDATE

Rex is still hanging out with us. He is clear of parasites and has no abnomalities on his bloodwork but still is not gaining much weight. We are feeding him his regular diet as well as giving him additional nutritional support. Hopefully he will continue to gain more weight.

March 2006 Update! Rowena has been adopted!!!

Her story:

Rowena, December 2004

Rowena came to us this fall with severe foot burns and dorsal burns.  She sloughed off approximately a 2"x6" section of her back.  It was so awful you could even see her bone.  She has healed extremely well and has become best pals with Galen.

Rowena1.JPG (266150 bytes)

Rowena, April 2005 update

Rowena is doing great and enjoys spending time with one of our newest residents, Ariel. She has moved into a very large cage and enjoys basking under her lamps for the greater part of the day.
