TEXAS THREADSNAKE Leptotyphlops dulcis (Baird & Girard, 1853) 

STATUS:  Common

DOCUMENTED COUNTIES:  Dallas, Denton, Hood, Johnson, Parker, Tarrant, and Wise

HABITAT:  Western Cross Timbers, Mesquite Grand Prairie, Fort Worth Prairie, Eastern Cross Timbers, and Cedar-limestone Hills

SUBSPECIES:  Plains Threadsnake L. d. dulcis (Baird & Girard, 1853)

COMMENTS:  The plains threadsnake is much more common than indicated by observations.
