Big Changes to the WTHS

and

The 7th Annual Spring Field Meet!

At the February 2008 Board Meeting, the Board of Directors voted on and approved the following changes to the structure of the WTHS. The following changes were made in an attempt to improve the participation, attendance, and membership to the WTHS.

¨       Beginning in 2009, the West Texas Herper’s Report will be available as a PDF file that will be emailed to members of the Society. Members without email capability will continue to receive the newsletters in paper form at their request.

¨       Beginning in 2008, there will be two (2) public meetings of the WTHS.

1. The first one will be held the second week in June, which is the annual field trip, the Spring Roundup. This field trip’s location will rotate on an annual basis.

2. The second public meeting will be a symposium of four (4) speakers that will be held the second weekend in October. This will be the annual Fall Symposium. This events location will also rotate on an annual basis.

¨       Beginning in June, the annual membership fees will also change. The changes are as follows:

            Individual Membership  -  change from $20 to $10

            Family Membership  -  change from $25 to $15

            Student Membership  -  change from $15 to $5

            Supporting Membership  -  remains the same at $20

the WTHS & the AHS.

This year we will be heading west to

Sanderson, Texas!!

Both Societies will be staying at the

Outback Oasis Motel

in Sanderson.

We will meet on Saturday, June 14th at 9:00 am at the motel lobby and from there we will proceed to some areas that are rich in herp fauna. Remember to bring your   camera and a valid Texas hunting license!

***        Please limit collecting to 2 specimens per person please while on the trip (Saturday.) ***

 Prices for the hotel are as follows (discounted rates for WTHS members!)

One Person Rooms - $30 (Reg. $40)

Two Person Rooms - $45 (Reg. $55)

Three Person Rooms - $55 (Reg. $65)
