I am writing to you as a representative of polish breeders of exotic animals. I have to ask you about help and support for our terraristic community. The problem, which is connected with breeding and holding venomous and predatory animals stick in polish law. We need to regulate it as soon as possible, but on this stage your assistance is indispensable. In this moment there is a little inexactness and breeding and holding venomous and predatory animals is legal. Article 73, point 1 says, that breeding and holding this animals, except of zoos, circuses, explorative institutions is interdicted. Everything can be clear without second point of Article 73, which says, that Minister of Environment will defines list of venomous and predatory animals. First disposition with attached list come into existence on 23.08.2005, and it passing a bill was moved a few times. The list changed, by dint of it some species was erased. The disposition do not come into life yet. This is the description how looked the situation till 20.08.2008. That day the correction was voted by members of parliament.

According to correction of article 73 (23.08.2008) about protection of nature will be interdicted:
1) possession and keeping
2) bringing from aboard
3) selling, trading, renting, giving and lending for people, who are not allowed to keeping
- species described (by civil servant from Ministry of Environment) as a dangerous.
Only in the case of species adhere in II category, regional director from Ministry of Environment can gives out a permission, which allow animal to contain, keep and bring from abroad by it owner, and the animal will be must register in the department. We do not know needs, necessary to receive this kind of permission, because Ministry of Environment do not send to Seym project of this distinction.

In 6 months (species adhere to I category) or in 12 months (species adhere to II category) from come distinction into life the animals must be registered, or delivered for free - in the case when regional director do not gives us a permission.

If they command to give back the animals, which was legally obtained, it will be violate of Polish Constitution (21 article).

The other correction for article 73 is compounded in the parliament. This correction says, that breeding dangerous for human health and life animals is legal, when the owner reports possession in district vet and then the breeding stays in his supervision. Also, this is dangerous animals breeders point of view. Our point of view. We are trying check every possibility and cross every way for legalize this distinction.

If really, you think , if will change we?law in Poland?Everything there is in this country after smallest line of contumacy. Certainly we can take example from law of country advanced more,But if it will apprehend our government Poland.We dont have antitoxins and it in next years not judge change. It is necessary to assure professional medical insurance in,to first sequence. (Bank of antitoxin, instructing of physician, medical staff )

Sure, that is one thing, but the second one Firstly we need to do not allow to change distinction by MoE. If it will be voted down - chance for progress of our hobby will be leveling down... very fast. And remember one important think - article 73 with attached list is not refer only with venomous reptiles, but also with big pythons, anacondas and other "dangerous" animals (dangerous only in meaning of Ministry of Environment).
