MAD ISLAND
WMA

Located on the Texas Coast in Matagorda County, Mad Island has 7200 acres of mostly coastal prairie and marsh. The marshes range from fresh to saline and have extensive road systems throughout. Adjacent to the WMA, the Nature Conservancy has an additional 7000 acres that we may also be permitted to explore. Camping will be available and possibly a small bunkhouse. Details have not yet all been worked out, but will be provided as soon as they are determined.
